Dinosaw That!
Fossil-finding Gamified Experience
Dinosaw That! is a virtual fossil-finding interactive experience at the ‘Lost Creatures’ Dinosaur Exhibit at the Queensland Museum. The challenge museums face is the act of balancing detailed information with visual and physical displays, all within the confines of museum space.

The interactive space features the dig site and the dino wall. The dig site is a platform strewn with dig sites through which museum visitors can uncover hidden bones. Discovered bones build the skeleton of a dinosaur on the dino wall. Users watch their creations come to life through a floorto-
ceiling projected wall display - and can find
out more about each ancient creature and fossil discoveries housed by the Queensland Museum.

In addition to the educational aspect of
discovery and excavation, Dinosaw That! has changeable difficulty settings to suit all ages and digital literacy levels. Gamification also ensures visitors progress through the experience in an intuitive way, guided by the narrative of an excavation and encouraged by the progress seen on the dino wall.
